The Friends of West Sylvan was created to support scholars and staff while fostering community connections through fun student activities, fundraising and volunteer opportunities!

Big changes this year!

We Changed Our Name!  We were formerly known as The West Sylvan Foundation. In addition to our name change, you'll notice our new fierce wolf logo, a new web address [www.friendsofwestsylvan.org] and updated email address [hi@friendsofwestsylvan.org]. We believe this name better reflects the work that we do to support student and staff experiences at the school.

Pack Parties! We are bringing back Pack Parties (if you went to West Sylvan yourself, this will be a blast from the past). Pack Parties are a fun event for each grade. There will be music, games, photo booths and lots of fun. Each grade will have one Pack Party at some point during the year. Best of all, all Pack Parties will be free!

Donations: This year we want you to be able to choose more specifically where your donations will go and feel good knowing you are supporting those areas that matter to your family the most. Our work as Friends of West Sylvan encompasses three main areas. These areas are:

1. Staff Appreciation - Anything that shows our WS Staff how much their hard work is appreciated!

2. Student Activities and Classroom Support - Anything that touches our students educational needs or helps make middle school fun!

3. West Sylvan Cares - A new charitable area of focus that works closely with our counseling department to provide support for our most vulnerable students.

Volunteers: We will have many opportunities for volunteers to get involved this year. We will announce opportunities in our newsletters and list them on our website here. Right now we are currently recruiting for First Friday Staff Lunch volunteers to help plan the first lunch next month!

Feeling ready to support the new Friends of West Sylvan? You can donate at anytime on our website. All donations go directly to our wonderful West Sylvan Wolfpack and you are instantly emailed a receipt for tax purposes.

MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS
STORIES, STRATEGIES, SOLUTIONS

Join us on October 4th from 6-8 p.m. at the Lincoln High School Theatre for a night dedicated to raising awareness about our students' mental health. Presented by our students, they will share day-to-day experiences, struggles, strategies, and valuable resources related to mental health, substance abuse, and suicide prevention.

The students will present their stories alongside a panel of medical professionals, counselors, and community members who have battled substance abuse and mental illness.

Students, parents, alumni, community members, teachers, and administrators are all welcome and encouraged to attend.

Have you downloaded the Directory App yet?

Friends of West Sylvan DIRECTORY APP

You will love the added convenience of accessing the directory from the Membership Toolkit App. The app includes the directory and calendar —and links to the site through your internet browser.

The app is available free in the Apple Store and in Google Play. Download it one time for all of the organizations that you are affiliated with that are using Membership Toolkit. If you belong to 4 organizations that are using Membership Toolkit, when you log in to the app you will see all four organizations presented and you can toggle between organizations.
